Youth Enrichment Instructor - After School CHESS Classes Position Type: Ann Arbor Public Schools - Community Education & Recreation (Rec & Ed) Instructor When Needed: Winter 2027, Spring 2027, Fall 2027 (and beyond) Class Location(s): Ann Arbor Public Schools (K-5 or K-8 schools) Time Commitment: 1 day/week after school, from the time school lets out until 5:00 or 5:30pm POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for an experienced instructor and people-person to teach chess classes to children afterschool at least one day per week. Potential class description: Unlock the power of strategic thinking by learning how to play chess. Each week, enjoy interactive lessons, puzzle challenges, and friendly matches to reinforce new concepts. Beginner and intermediate players will learn about chess history, chess etiquette, the playing board, common opening moves, middle and endgame strategies and tactics, as well as how to checkmate their opponent.
