Position type: Student Support Services / LD / BD Self-Contained. REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services and Building Principal SUMMARY: The Self-Contained Resource Program is a cross categorical classroom designation where the teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher will create and maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional growth while collaborating with staff, families, and service providers. QUALIFICATIONS: State of Michigan Teacher Certification One or more of the following Special Education endorsements: SM (preferred), SE, SA Experience working with students with disabilities in a resource and/or self-contained setting preferred. Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and compliance requirements. Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
