POSITION OPEN: Special Education Paraeducator LOCATION: Pattengill Elementary School (2 positons) HOURS: 30 hours per week COMPENSATION: Per the Berkley Education Association of Paraeducators (BEAP) QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required: 2 years college preferred. An experienced Paraeducator with background assisting a student with disabilities. Applicant should have general knowledge of high school curriculum in reading, writing, math and science and possess skills in these areas at the secondary school level. The applicant must be a positive, upbeat individual who is caring and flexible and must be able to adjust to the physical and emotional needs of the student. Applicant must be cooperative, dependable, show initiative and accept direction. Knowledge of computer assisted instruction, typing is desirable. C.P.I. training with current record on file or willing to be trained. Able to lift at least 50 pounds, stoop, bend and kneel on one of both knees, as well as physically manage student if necessary.
