Position type: Instructional - High School / Science - Physical Science. Location: Beecher Middle School. INTERNAL / EXTERNAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate. 2. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. 3. A valid State of Michigan Certificate (DX or DI) endorsement. PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. 2. Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc. 3. Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction. 4. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. 5. Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. 6. Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress. 7. Maintains current student data including all relevant measures of academic progress.
