Position type: Special Education / Special Education Teacher. Location: West Bloomfield Middle School. Date available: Immediately. Required Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required. Valid Michigan teaching certificate in appropriate grade level and area of special education required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet professional teacher education requirements established by the School, District, and State. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of special education.. Thorough knowledge of school rules, regulations and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior. Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training or willingness to complete certification within six months of hire. Demonstrated commitment to the overall success of the school by participation in projects that support the student experience, such as, but not limited to, advisory programs, social and emotional learning, and extracurricular activities.
