POSITION: Paraprofessional - Bus Aide REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation SUMMARY: Bus Aides help to work to ensure a safe and secure environment on the school bus for students. QUALIFICATIONS: Personal or professional experience with basic childcare 18 years of age or older Pass a background check Experience working with school age children Possess or successfully complete Special Needs Training RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in sanitizing the interior of the bus to provide clean and safe environment Assists the Driver with student management Assists the Driver with maintaining the attendance sheets Working knowledge of the Transportation Operation Manual Coordinates with Director of Transportation all safety concerns Attends all staff meetings, team meetings and training as requested Performs any other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, must be able to see and hear the entire classroom, and moving light furniture may be required.
