POSITION: MTSS Behavior Paraprofessional - 31a Funded SUPERVISOR: Principals, in conjunction with the MTSS Coordinator This position operates strictly as an instructional and behavioral paraprofessional, completely free of administrative, supervisory, or disciplinary duties. This non-administrative role allows the paraprofessional to focus entirely on direct student intervention, and building-level system support. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support students with academic and behavioral challenges funded under Section 31a of the Michigan State School Aid Act, helping implement multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and positive behavior interventions. DUTIES: Behavioral Support: Implement individual Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), use de-escalation techniques, and promote Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Supervise dedicated reflection rooms or positive behavior centers focused on alternatives to suspension.
