Position Summary The Middle School Newspaper Advisor oversees and supports students in developing and publishing a school newspaper. The advisor guides students through the writing, editing, design, and publication process while encouraging student voice, creativity, collaboration, and responsible journalism. Primary Responsibilities Supervise and facilitate newspaper club meetings. Guide students in brainstorming story ideas, conducting interviews, writing articles, and editing content. Support students in designing, organizing, and publishing the school newspaper in print or digital format. Teach students appropriate journalistic practices, including accuracy, proofreading, responsible reporting, and respect for others. Establish deadlines and help students stay organized to meet publication goals. Ensure newspaper content is appropriate for a middle school audience and aligns with district policies.
