JOB TITLE: IP Act 18 - PARAPROFESSIONAL (Position # 5BMS) JOB SUMMARY: The paraprofessional shall serve as an aide resource person and liaison which allows for direct educational involvement with assigned students. The paraprofessional shall assist the teacher(s) in initiatory and participatory activities that occur in the training/teaching process along with other non-instructional activities. MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS: Meet one of the following three criteria to be considered highly qualified: Completed at least 60 hours of credit toward a college diploma; or Obtain an associate's (or higher) degree; or Demonstrate, through a formal academic assessment test, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and math; (or, as appropriate, knowledge reading, writing, and math readiness).
