Position type: Student Support Services / Guidance Counselor. Location: Woodhaven High School. JOB TITLE: COUNSELOR JOB SUMMARY: Serves as the center of the guidance effort of the school and is the person through whom all pertinent information regarding the student is channeled. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but not be limited to): Using the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Model, assist in developing a student's academic and social abilities in order to make positive career choices, course selections, and personal decisions. Assumes the leadership and responsibility for implementing the Comprehensive Guidance Model. Responsible for group and individual guidance procedures associated with proper student placement. Involvement with group and individual counseling to keep the student in good standing in all classes. Serves as a source of information for the student with respect to the school, home and community. Administers and interprets tests within the testing program.
